Niko Dawson

Board Member
Niko Dawson was born and raised in Detroit, MI.
He has been married to Tina Branch-Dawson for more than 10 years, has one son, Niko Dawson, Jr.
He attended Grambling State University, graduating with a BS in Marketing/Management in 1994 and a Masters Degree in Public Administration in 1996.
Niko is currently employed with Washtenaw Community College, where he serves as Dean, of the Economic & Community Development Division. Niko has direct oversight of the Workforce Development, Career Services, Contract Training for Business Solutions, Community Enrichment/Engagement, and Conference Services departments. He has also worked professionally with Oakland Community College - Economic and Workforce Development Department, Chrysler Corporation - Procurement & Supply & Financial Services, EDS - GM OnStar, and Walmart.
He is currently a member of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church of Detroit.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Pontiac Regional Chamber, Pontiac Probation and Parole, and is currently a member of the Detroit Grambling State University Alumni Association, and has served as Polemarch for the Southfield Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
He was initiated in the Southfield Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in 2000. Within the fraternity he has served as Community Service Chairman, Kappa League Adviser, Board member of the Southfield Kappa Foundation, and Vice-Polemarch of the Southfield Alumni Chapter. 
He is also a member of the Northern Province Achievement Committee of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
