About Us

Our Approach

For the foundation year 2024-2025, we plan to:

  • Award thirty $1,000 scholarships for year deserving high school students
  • Renew 14 existing one thousand-dollar scholarships for another school year FOR CURRENTS CHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
  • Feed 250 families with food-insecurity with a meal for Thanksgiving
  • Host a health fair with community partners within the City of Southfield
  • Provide program events registration fees, transportation and meal cost for 40 high school students
  • Collaborate with another community-based 501 (c)(3) organization that serves children of needy families to host a leadership and life skills 2-day conference.
Our History

SOUTHFIELD KAPPA FOUNDATION HISTORY

Southfield Kappa Foundation (SKF) was established in 1992 as the philanthropic arm of the Southfield (MI) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.

Since 1992:

  • Awarded over $950,000 in scholarships for students pursuing higher education
  • Mentored over 300 high school males through our Guide Right Initiative
  • Provided community programs to assist less-fortunate families
  • Acquired a 2200 Sq. ft. facility to serve as the Southfield Kappa Foundation's headquarters and operations center for volunteer services and event space for community organizations
